Hopefully if we play like last weekend, we will have another 4 point weekend. Don't usually do predictions.

Aren't Sheffield the only team that haven't beaten us this season? going from our current form mixed with how we played this weekend, anything is possible. I'll go for at least a 3 point weekend with the Sheff game going to OT. Pete, we need to get in Amblers head again

Pete, we need to get in Amblers head again We got to him in Bracknell a few weeks ago, I am sure that it will be playing on his mind. Just hope that the BOFs keep quiet as it will stir up some comments from us. Pete

I think we may get took to wire in one of the games possibly by Sheffield as Bracknell seem to have faded a bit recently. Out of the 2 teams Bracknell seem stronger as Sheff seem to release or get there players took Farmer and Wallace 2 examples. But they have Slamiar as he does well against us. So a interesting weekend is instore i think .

Hi All,
Scims.
That was one of the better games we have played since December. It had everything, goals, fights and some good hockey. To me it was either Jaaarrrkkkooo ( I wish I knew how to spell his name ) or Wood for man of the match, but all of the players gave their all.
It was nice to see Hand give Payette the nod from the penalty box to unshackle the chains, although Wilson was not in the same class but give him some credit he did step up to the plate, it would have been better if it was taken to centre ice so we could all see. I think that was the only time that Wilson was on the ice.
Big Ry was getting a nose bleed being so high up the ice for all the time he had tonigh, nice to see and he did well.
Ben Bowns looked pissed off when he got the MoM, it was as though it was a "cop out" as it was an easy call for whoever made the call, he knew it wasn't his best game.

Hi All,
Another good performance tonight. Although Mattson had a good game I wouldn't have put him down as MoM, we called Tony Hand but it could have been so many of the players if not all. We got a wave from Ambler, he would have been up for a lot of stick tonight if he would have been playing, a good move to put the other one in (can't think of his name) Hand and Haggleberg play well to gether as do Payette and Johnson. It does seem as though we have turned a corner, hence the chant "we've got our Phoenix back" I was discussing that since the MKL EPL cup games, in which the first game at Altrincham the players weren't playing for Hand, but I think when there was such a good turn out of Phoenix fans at MKL for a mid week NO game it gave him the opportunity to say "look if your not going to play for me, play for those fans". We also aren't missing Ed Courtenay, the players seem to be stepping up with energy that when Courtenay plays isn't there. The passing, on the whole, was tape to tape, but we also did get the bounces going our way. There was some good passion in the players tonight.
As we were four up, I would have thought that Max Drakely would have got some ice time.

I didnt think we'd win both games - but like you say, it seems with Ed missing, the remaining players are stepping up & enjoying the extra ice time & some of the lines seem to be settling & working better together.
A great weekend all round!

Hey Rob,
Nice musings, I personally don't think that Payette will come back even if his does get offered a contract. It is too late in the season to let the leash off, if Hand would have allowed him to do what he was brought in for at the start of the season, then yes maybe, also we wouldn't have been bullied by other teams. The best thing that has come out of Payettes fight is that he has sent out a very strong message for the playoffs. Wilson wasn't in the same weight division as Payette and it was good to see that Payette dispatched him without loosing face himself, by that I mean giving him a thrashing, it also meant that Wilson kept face as well, as all the respect in the world to Wilson, he knew that he was going up against someone well above his division yet he still stepped up to the plate.
Re the Yorkshireman standing in the aisles, you know what they say about Yorkshiremen, Yorkshireman born and bred, strong in the arm, thick in the head. They have been moaning all season about being allowed to sit where they want but as the Public Performance License (I think thats what it's called) from Trafford Council requires the club to segregate home and away fans, they have written letters to the council sasying how daft this ruling is but it has been pointed out that Trafford have one of the largest football teams in the world to sort out they can't have one rule for one and another rule for another. I would hope that the person standing in the aisles would be politely told that he would be removed from the rink it it continued.
