If, as seems possible, we've seen the last of Ed. Courtney ...and if the management already knew via his contract that he'd be off home several times in the season and leave us short handed ... why did they not have a plan "B" with another import available to slot in in the same way that some of the other clubs have. Can't believe its a money problem as our overheads must be way down from last year while our gates have stayed more or less the same.

I think everyone has known Ed has been struggling for the last few weeks, I didnt think he would last the full season TBH & from what I gather he has been playing for us as a favour for TH - not the money, hence he was allowed home alot to keep his home life upto speed. So I dont think he's been on alot of money.
TH just needs to ensure the guys that are left & have sat back abit recently - now step upto the plate & give it 100%

We are a far cry from making profit.

Neil has still lost £70,000 this season. Has he checked down the back of his sofa?

Neil has still lost £70,000 this season. So is that about 50 Ed Courtenay games at 2 games a week? Pete

Is really confused as to how Neil has managed to lose £70000 so far this year with the season not even over yet?

Is really confused as to how Neil has managed to lose £70000 so far this year with the season not even over yet? I agree, as a business man, I am hard pushed to understand these figures. In a nutshell that works out at around 3k a week shortfall. The club is running to a maximum, well as much as it can be in a city with football being the major sports income. I personally feel the dome won't get any fuller, except for one off games. These are very worrying figures indeed, how much longer can this carry on, based upon experience, not very long as everyones pockets have a bottom and you can only get so much income from such a small audience. (rough ride alert!!!!)

Hmmm, not sure about having a 'Plan B'. I think we coped quite well on Sunday, so it isn't really a problem.
As for the £70k loss....
That worrys me. A lot.
As Tony says, there is a point where one man (Neil) cannot sustain those losses any longer. Which would leave the team up shit creek.

I personally feel the dome won't get any fuller, except for one off games. I've achieved more in not even three months on this front than Biggar ever did, its constantly on the up and I'm pushing it hard in the close of the season. Well into three figures extra guaranteed for the next few games. Attendances WILL rise, because I'm going to bloody well make them.

But Dave was only a consultant & could only give advice - not much of it was used. How do you advise someone who constantly thinks they knew better?

It just so happens that he didn't give much of it in the end, that's the problem. If anything, he caused more problems than he solved and we've only just sorted them out. How do you get advised by someone who constantly thinks they know better?

Somehow at this point in the season adding a few more bums on seats isnt going to fill the £70k void that Neil has managed to lose this year as well as all the other £70k+s on previous years.
The Dave Biggar Experiment was never given chance to succeed in my opinion as with so many 2 minute wonders that the club seems to try each season (Commercial Board or Club Phoenix anyone ?)
The Club has cut its costs, dropped down a league and raised attendences (with Mattskis help noted) but still is hemmoraging cash, WHY ?? Where is it going ?? and more importantly can it be stopped ? because in this current economic climate it doesnt take a genuis to work out what is gonna happen to the Phoenix and I along with everyone else who posts on this forum DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN..
