Hi All,
Went to Milton Keynes last night.
I was on the players coach, which I must say was a very pleasant experience, obviously didn't have to do any driving but a really nice coach with excellent driver who was prepared to talk some puck and knew what he was talking about. Well done to Becky for organising it, I know from personal experience that it takes a lot of sorting out and it went efficiently without hitches.
Met Karen and Kev down there and we had a lovely Ruby in a curry house that looked like an Indian palace.
Met a few of the locals who were nice people. Even met Pucky, sorry Pete Pucky is in a different league.
Enjoyed the game, Phoenix did put up a good show with plenty of effort from the players who mostly got a reasonable amount of ice time each, some of the ENL lads were announced as playing but I didn't see them on the coach. The other point I would mention is that I had the feeling that MKL if they wanted to could turn on the afterburners but didn't. Both sets of players were fighting for the puck, which was nice to see because that has been lacking from the Phoenix game.
We had some fun coming out with the usual rubbish which was very funny to see the faces of the Phoenix BOFs as we appeared to annoy them the most which only added to our fun. I cannot understand why some people spend there hard earned to sit there with faces like a bulldog sucking p*ss from a thistle, but I suppose it is their choice, I just wish they would smile and crack their faces once in a while. I'm just glad I didn't have my "fun gland" removed at birth.
I hope that MKL go onto wint the cup as theydeserve it.
Pete
