What if the club decided to sell off seats on a coach that you had to share with the team? Would that encourage you to travel to away games?

Hi Mags,
I think the Metros or Aces did this some time ago, others may be able to give more details.
It is a cracking idea, beneficial to the club and fans alike although there would have to be strict rules for the fans and players both. Maybe something like on internal flight planes where they have the front of the plane curtained off for 1st class.
I drove the players down to Milton Keynes a couple of weeks ago and the minibus used was not ideal for professional players to be expected to use then play a game, they were cramped and complained about it, I personally got fed up of their moaning and nearly told them but had to bite my tongue. I wouldn't do it again. I have been on many "road trips" with blokes but this was nothing like anything that I had been on before, there was no atmosphere, just complaints. The most fun we had when when we got lost in MK.

it's a very good idea. So long as people are aware of the rules and stick to 'em, great.
Anything that helps the team get better transport is a good thing. And also I do think it would encourage people to travel. Cos really, it is a cool concept.
And its something a lot of teams have done, I know Swindon have done it as well, and it worked for them.
Go for it.

It worked for the Mets! Most sensible decision that could be made.
The tales I could tell you......

I would imagine that coach trip would not run and the team would have to travel by mini bus .I could be wrong though

Hi Mags,
What about publishing the "rules" so that people can decide for themselves if they are prepared to abide and go on the coach or otherwise.
Will there be a coach to the EPL cup in MK, I certainly would consider that one.

Rules are 1. Do not speak to any of the players unless they speak to you first. 2. Please make as little noise as possible. The team need to "Get into the Zone". 3. The driver can pick up at Altrincham only but can drop off at either Altrincham or what was the Cathedral Arches pub in order for you to catch the all night bus. Under no circumstances can he divert or drop you off in passing. Please do not ask him to make any exceptions. The team need to get to bed. 4. You must pay for your seat, in full, at the time of booking and there are no refunds if you cancel. 5. If you breach any of these rules you will not be allowed to travel on the Players coach again. That's it.

If we get the 25 for the Semi, then yes.

Thanks for that.
The rules I would instist upon and these may seem draconian but are for a good reason are-
No interaction at all between players and fans.
No mention of hockey at all during the trip from anyone.
The reasoning behind this is even if you had a player approach a fan and started to talk some puck it could cause another fan to become included in the conversation and it could escalate into a discussion that could lead into a fan telling the coach how to run the club, which I feel in these circumstances is innapropriate. That isn't to say in other circumstances it can be appropriate but not on the bus.

Hi All,
How about this as an idea,
The club sell raffle tickets at the games to win a seat on the coach for away games. The extra money generated could go towards the cost of the coach or if it takes off eventually buy a small coach for the club.
